Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sam graduated from Kenyon College in 2023 with a degree in sociology. During her time in college, she helped launch the Center of Hope community center and food pantry in Bladensburg, Ohio. She also spent time as a writer and co-editor for her school's female-led online magazine, covering a wide range of social issues on campus. Outside of work, Sam loves to spend her free time playing the piano, building IKEA furniture, and listening to NPR podcasts.
