During her undergraduate studies, she interned for the Santa Cruz County Public Defenders Office in the collateral consequences department, helping clients get their records expunged. Her passion for helping those who have been harmed by the criminal legal system grew when she participated in the Transcommunal Peacemaking class where UC Santa Cruz students had the opportunity to learn alongside a group of men in Soledad CTF. In her free time, Gilli enjoys hiking, camping, and playing softball.
