John Bonacorsi is PFJ’s Director of Impact Measurement. John works with PFJ’s National Team and public defender offices across the country to help them identify metrics and analyze data to better understand and improve their impact.
John has devoted the entirety of his career to organizations that practice holistic representation and support social movements. Prior to PFJ, John worked at the Heartland Center for Jobs & Freedom. At Heartland, he led a litigation unit to enforce tenants’ rights through individual and class action lawsuits. He also defended hundreds of tenants in eviction court. John previously was a Skadden Fellow and staff attorney at ArchCity Defenders. At ArchCity, he fought against policies that criminalize homelessness and represented clients in federal, state, and municipal court. John received his JD from Stanford Law School and MPP from Stanford University. Prior to law school John worked at the Prison Law Office, where he traveled to prisons across California to help people in prison challenge unconstitutional prison conditions and access medical and mental health care.
