Sarina Zhou graduated Cornell University Class of 2024 with a major in Economics and minor in Law and Society.
She has been a passionate advocate for criminal and juvenile justice reform since high school, where she wrote and presented bills at the Florida State Capitol advocating for the elimination of solitary confinement and discretionary direct file. During college, Sarina brought art projects and peer connection to incarcerated young men at a local high-security prison as part of Art Beyond Cornell, researched risk-taking and decision-making processes (Reyna Lab), and analyzed legislation limiting access to work for the justice-impacted in OECD countries (she co-wrote this research paper, 'Civil Death and Labor Market Alienation', which she presented at the UN International Labour Organization and was published in the Harvard Human Rights Journal). Sarina is from Orlando, FL, and loves to paint portraits and landscapes and adventure in the outdoors.
