Samantha Reimer graduated as a first generation college student from Seattle Pacific University, where she double majored in psychology and philosophy. During her undergraduate education she worked as a research assistant to multiple labs studying the effects of trauma on decision making in the brain and emotion regulation in children on the ASD spectrum. Her personal interactions with the legal system as a child have given her a stronger perspective into the treatment of incarcerated individuals. Through this and her education, she has learned the importance of community support in both preventive and rehabilitative circumstances.
