After transitioning from her hometown of Boston, MA to Baton Rouge, LA, Shanai quickly grew passionate about reducing recidivism, disproportionate achievement gaps of marginalized communities, and generational poverty within the Southern regions of the U.S. Shanai hopes to one day become a civil rights attorney, where she use the privileges she has had in her own life to advocate for the voices that often go unheard. In her free time, Shanai loves traveling to new places, watching basketball, reading, and spending time with her pets.
